The next Ft. Crook IPMS meeting will be held at Valentino's Restaurant on 108th between Q and L Streets in Omaha at 7 PM this Wednesday, April 9th. The reason we are going here because the room at Confluence Bookstore is occupied this month. We do have the remainder of the year booked at Confluence for our meetings.
There will be no contest this month. Tom Long, Don Joy, and Kevin Stone's "Space, The Final Frontier" contest has been moved to the May meeting which will be at Confluence Bookstore.
Scott Hackney will be presenting a program on the history of the RC-135 at the Valentino?s meeting. I am sure that will be very interesting.
If you have a model in progress, please bring it along with. But remember, there is not as much room there as at Confluence and we will be having dinner there.
Scott would like to encourage everyone to preregister for the Regional contest. He will be bringing copies of registration forms to the meeting. Also anyone wishing to sponsor a trophy pack can do so for $30. Scott will have a list of categories that are available for sponsorship.
The club is spending quite a bit of money for this regional contest. To offset the expenses, we have always relied on our Omacon Raffle. It has been remarked that our raffle is one of the best around. If you have kits that you wish to donate for the Regional Raffle, bring them to the meeting and Mike Whye or Norm McMullen will gladly take them for use in the raffle.
We will also be having a Make-and-Take for kids at the regional. I just ordered some kits from IPMS for that. Scott also tells me we will have a rather full vendor area. So it looks like there should be a great choice of kits and accessory items there.
So come on out to Valentinos on Wednesday, enjoy the buffet, Scott's program, and camaraderie with other modelers.
Your Prez, Brian
